Prima Assicurazioni continues to pursue its recruitment plan, helping to support the economy at a difficult time for Italy. In May, the insurtech company that focuses on motor insurance policies added a further 20 talents to its Milan offices, bringing its total workforce to over 200 units. With these new entries, the company’s employees have more than doubled compared to a year. To protect the health of its workers, the new recruits instantly started working from home.

Indeed, Prima Assicurazioni has set up this form of work for all its employees so as to minimise social and health risks to the community. Agile working has quickly enabled every department, including the company’s call centre and claims office, to remain operational and fully efficient while working from home.

The insurance industry, numbered in the government decree of 22 March as one of the country’s key sectors, is withstanding the impact of the coronavirus emergency better than others. In March, for example, Prima Assicurazioni closed its month-end accounts with strong growth figures.

With its data-driven approach, the company was able to stipulate 70% more policies in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, and to date its active clients are almost 600,000 (+80%). Prima Assicurazioni continues to demonstrate the strength of its innovative model and an extraordinary ability to implement its strategy. The tech company has also already announced the opening of new offices in Rome this April, for which a further 100 people will be recruited.

George Ottathycal, General Manager and Co-Founder of Prima Assicurazioni, commented: “Today, all our employees are working from home, including those working in our customer service and claims office, who keep in constant contact with our clients by phone and email. The technological nature of our company and the professionalism of our workforce has allowed us to move smoothly into full remote working mode. Other than to share some best practices on remote working and to update our video conferencing tools, we haven’t had to change our routine much. We are an innovative company, we have always adopted agile work methods and have been using online collaboration and information sharing tools right from the outset.”
