Prima and Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP unveiled a new celebratory Pininfarina livery for the Italian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Mugello.
The livery will bring Italian pride to the track at the country’s home of MotoGP. Made exclusively for the Prima Pramac Yamaha team, it marks the first ever livery created for MotoGP by Pininfarina, an icon of Italian design since 1930.
The design project unites three internationally-recognised Italian names. In just over ten years, Prima has established itself as one of Italy’s leading insurance players. The company has over 5 million customers, thanks to its innovative technological model.
Pininfarina has designed some of history’s most legendary automobiles. It is renowned for its elegance, innovation and aesthetic research.
Meanwhile, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP is amongst the most competitive teams in contemporary motorcycle racing. Several times in recent years, they have won the Best Independent Team title. In 2023, they made it as the first independent team to take home the team title ahead of the factory teams. And in 2024, they won the Riders' World Championship, the first independent team to do so in the MotoGP era.
“The Mugello circuit is a special one for Prima,” says Prima CEO George Ottathycal. “Last year, together with Pramac Yamaha, we created a livery dedicated to Prima's 10th anniversary. And for 2026, we're continuing this tradition, with the desire to make one of the most beloved MotoGP events even more memorable. Creating a special livery with a design icon like Pininfarina, and seeing it race on the track this weekend, is a great thrill for us and a perfect union of Italian excellence.”
“Bringing a Pininfarina-designed livery to Mugello together with Prima is something special not only for our team, but for motorsport as a whole,” says Paolo Campinoti, Pramac Racing Team Principal. “Seeing our bikes race in the fantastic setting of Mugello, with a livery that showcases the class and elegance of Pininfarina design, makes us proud and confirms the incredible value that Prima brings to our team.”
“We are proud of this meeting of brand, design and speed,” adds Paolo Dellachà, CEO of Pininfarina. “The livery is born from the union of different names, united by the same idea of excellence: transforming a distinctive sign into identity. In this project, Pininfarina translates a deep-rooted visual legacy, using a simple, elegant and iconic style, designed to enhance the dynamism of a MotoGP bike. The result is a livery that combines prestige and dynamic tension. Presenting it at Mugello means placing it in the ideal context, where speed, passion and Italian identity naturally blend. Here, design is not simply observed, but experienced.”
The livery features clean, dynamic lines and the "Design by Pininfarina" signature. It enhances the silhouette of the Yamaha machines competing in the MotoGP and Moto2 World Championships. The central element of the design is the diagonal red line, which is complemented by two thin lines in the instantly-recognisable Prima purple. It is a contemporary reimagining of the famous graphic design of the Modulo, Pininfarina’s 1970 concept car.
The tribute to Italian excellence will unite the entire Pramac Racing universe for Sunday's race: the 2026 Italian MotoGP Grand Prix at Mugello, one of the most anticipated events on the world calendar. As well as the Pininfarina-designed MotoGP livery, the team's riders will also take to the track wearing dedicated commemorative suits and a capsule collection developed in collaboration with Kappa, the historic Italian sportswear brand.
To showcase the project, lots of special content will be created over the weekend and shared on the official Prima, Prima Pramac Yamaha and Pininfarina channels.
