Job description
Are you looking for a new challenge?
Fancy helping us shape the future of motor insurance?
Prima could be the place for you.
Since 2015, we’ve been using our love of data and tech to rethink motor insurance and bring drivers a great experience at a great price. Our story began in Italy, where we’ve quickly become the number one online motor insurance provider. In fact, we’re trusted by over 4 million drivers. And now we’re expanding to help millions more drivers in the UK and Spain.
To help fuel that growth, we need a Data Analyst to join our Pricing & Underwriting team.
This team plays a pivotal role in shaping business strategy and driving innovation.
By combining advanced analytics and machine learning, you’ll help keep our pricing competitive and our risk under control. You’ll work at the intersection of data science and real-world impact, collaborating with cross-functional teams to turn insights into action.
Excited to make an impact? Here are the details
What you'll do: Optimize underwriting processes using data-driven insights, refining risk selection criteria and collaborating with Data Scientists to guide portfolio strategy; Identify performance patterns and new features, analyzing complex data to detect over/underperforming segments and strengthen risk understanding; Identify and integrate external data sources, negotiate strategic partnerships, and quantify their impact with the support of Data scientists to boost underwriting sophistication; Design competitive coverages that balance risk-customer needs-profitability and support along the end-to-end development through constant cross-functional collaboration.
What we're looking for: Strong academic background in Actuarial Science, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics; From 2 to 6 years of experience in similar roles within motor insurance, consulting, or business transformation (e.g., process optimization); Analytical powerhouse – Data-driven (Power BI, Tableau, SAS, SQL, Python) mindset to turn insights into action. Work with other Data Scientists and Data Analysts across the company to strengthen Prima’s data-driven culture, promoting best practices; Self-starter attitude – You take ownership, thrive in ambiguity, and make things happen—no hand-holding needed - empowered by strong problem-solving skills; Fluent English – Clear communication is key in our global team.
Nice-to-have: Exposure to underwriting/risk/antifraud processes or strategies; Project Leadership – Proven track record in managing cross-functional initiatives; Experience working with Product/Tech teams or in startups.
