Prima Assicurazioni, the insurtech company specialising in motor insurance policies whose data-driven approach is redefining the service standards of motor vehicle third-party liability insurance in Italy, has chosen to focus on the country’s capital to pursue its ambitious growth strategy. Indeed, Prima Assicurazioni has decided to open new offices in Rome, for which it will be recruiting new talent.

With more than half a million active clients, extraordinary results recorded in 2019 (a premium income of more than €131 million, up +71% compared to 2018), and a very positive start of the year (the subscription of new policies shooting up in February by +110% compared to the same month last year), day after day Prima Assicurazioni continues to demonstrate the strength of its business model and an extraordinary ability to implement its strategy. This ability is guaranteed by an outstanding team, which has now reached 180 talents, double that of last year. And it is precisely to strengthen these assets yet further that Prima Assicurazioni is opening up in Rome.

George Ottathycal, General Manager and Co-Founder of Prima Assicurazioni, commented: “The figures we are seeing spring from the extraordinary, ever-growing team we have managed to put together; because we believe that human capital is a fundamental asset for a tech company such as Prima Assicurazioni. The city of Milan, where we have our headquarters, has been attracting a significant number of developers as a result of a growing ecosystem of young tech companies; and yet Rome also has a significant potential in this regards, and that is what we hope to tap into. We have chosen to open our new offices here because we believe that we will find first-rate talents with a fresh outlook and exceptional skills. It fills us with pride to give extraordinary young people the chance to prove their worth in their own city, without having to move elsewhere.”

For its Roman offices, which will initially be hosted in the co-working spaces of Via Vittorio Veneto 54b, Prima Assicurazioni is looking for:

  • 20 CLAIMS HANDLERS: Motor claims handlers specialising in CARD and third-party claims and Claims anti-fraud specialists, with at least 4 years’ previous insurance experience in Claims Management (as Motor claims handlers specialising in CARD and third-party claims and Claims anti-fraud specialists), excellent analytical, problem-solving and negotiating skills, a natural inclination to work proactively in a cross-functional team, and a positive attitude to change.
  • 80 DEVELOPERS, and in particular: Senior Software Engineers/Tech Leads, who will be required to coordinate the development teams, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency with their cross-cutting insurance and programming skills. They should be highly trained in code writing, with an in-depth knowledge of multiple languages (Rust, Elixir, Elm, Php, etc.), as well as sound database (relational and non-relational) and native cloud development skills.
  • Backend Developers, with extensive expertise in web and functional programming. They should be familiar with at least one of the languages used, such as Rust, Elixir, Elm or PHP, as well as being extremely curious and keeping continuously up-to-date with the latest technologies on the market.
  • Frontend Developers, with excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS and related preprocessors, Javascript and related frameworks (react, angular) and task runners (Gulp, Webpack), and a knowledge of web inspectors. They should be passionate, proactive and eager to work into a complex and ever evolving domain.

The selection process will involve an initial interview and technical test with the Human Resources Manager and a subsequent meeting with the relevant department manager. The company expects to fill these vacancies by the end of April. Applications should be sent to: jobs@prima.it.
