The Role:

We seek an experienced and highly skilled Tech Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in software development and leadership skills. The successful candidate will play a main role in contributing to the Policy Lifecycle Operations team and in general the Policy Management Domain, driving the technical direction, architecture, and implementation of cutting-edge insure tech technologies.

You will join the Policy Lifecycle Operations Team inside the Policy Management domain, a crucial company area that focuses on implementing a scalable, sustainable and secure strategy to increase retention and customer lifetime value and optimise Prima’s operations across the countries we operate in, like Italy, the UK and Spain.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to build scalable and secure solutions that align with our company's mission to revolutionize financial services.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a technical lead for the team and the domain, identifying and taking ownership of wide-scale/cross-domain initiatives and driving outcomes
  • Deal with ambiguity and guide the stakeholders for clarification of requirements
  • Design, develop and maintain our services, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to industry best practices
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, enforce coding standards to maintain code quality and ensure consistent practices across the team
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable and effective solutions
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in software technologies, tools and frameworks, and drive their adoption when appropriate
  • Actively contribute to Policy Management engineering/technology strategy and support the development teams to follow and implement the vision defined in our engineering/technology strategy
  • Review and influence both high-level architectural decisions as well as implementation details across Prima engineering
  • Mentor other engineers and guide them to growth
  • Collaborate with Prima Staff Engineer to drive technical alignment across the domains
  • Contribute to fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team
  • Key requirements:
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Domain Driven Design
  • Professional experience with microservices-based architectures
  • Deep understanding of Event-Driven Architecture
  • Proven ability to apply and share knowledge of coding design principles and best practices
  • A clear understanding of the dynamics of software delivery in an agile, microservices-based environment, inclusive of aspects such as planning practices and ceremonies, design flow, SDLC, operations
  • Ability to identify and communicate effectively tradeoffs of different alternatives across all aspects of product delivery
  • Self-motivated, proactive and excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical issues and propose effective solutions with ownership and accountability for deliverables
  • Passion for helping team members grow and improve

  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Basic knowledge of Cybersecurity best practices
  • Nice to have:
  • Professional experience with at least one of Rust or Elixir
  • Knowledge of TDD
  • Knowledge of RabbitMQ/Kafka
  • Knowledge of CQRS and event sourcing
  • Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
