We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our dynamic Data Platform Success team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between our Data Platform Engineers, who are responsible for building and maintaining the new data platform, and Analytics Engineers and Software Engineers, who work within engineering domains to create data products and insights. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our current data infrastructure and facilitating the smooth adoption of our new data platform across various engineering domains.
You will work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance on best practices. Your deep technical expertise, coupled with your ability to communicate effectively with both platform engineers and analytics engineers, will be essential in driving data platform adoption and optimizing data processes across the company.
As a Data Engineer in out Data Platform Success team, you will be in charge of: Collaborate with engineering domains to support and optimize their usage of the existing data infrastructure, ensuring high performance and reliability. Assist engineering domains in adopting the new data platform, providing guidance, best practices, architectural advice, and troubleshooting support. Bridge the gap between Data Platform Engineers and Analytics Engineers, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration across teams. Design and implement tactical data solutions to address specific business needs and challenges. Embracing continuous learning and experimentation to stay updated on emerging technologies, from testing open-source tools to engaging in community-building activities like Meetups. Your passion for staying at the forefront of the field will drive your journey.
Requirements: Strong experience in data engineering or related roles, focusing on building and maintaining data infrastructure and pipelines. Proficiency in Python and experience with other programming languages (e.g., Scala) is a plus. Strong experience with distributed data processing frameworks, especially Apache Spark. Proficiency in SQL with a modern data warehouses (e.g. Redshift) and lakehouse (e.g. Databricks). Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools like Argo Workflow or Apache Airflow Ability to work effectively across teams, with strong communication skills to bridge the gap between platform engineering and analytics engineering.
Nice to have: Expertise in cloud-based data platforms, with a preference for AWS Expertise in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline management and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) deployment. Experience in interacting with Kafka or any other streaming technology. Familiarity with data transformation frameworks like dbt or sqlmesh. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration. Data Quality: Experience implementing data quality frameworks and practices, with familiarity in tools like Soda, dbt-expectations, or similar. Knowledge of data governance tools and practices (data catalogue, data lineage).
